A cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus)

One of the Smithsonian National Zoo's cheetahs explores their outdoor yard for the first time as they are introduced to the media at the zoo in Washington. Cheetah is an atypical member of the cat family (Felidae) that is unique in its speed and stealth, while lacking climbing abilities.
